Cessnock Youth Centre & Outreach Service (CYCOS)

In collaboration with communities, government and non-government agencies, Cessnock Youth Centre & Outreach Service (CYCOS) supports young people in the Cessnock Local Government Area through programs, partnerships, and creating opportunities for them to actively participate in quality community life. 

It's important we are responsive to the needs of young people as it's a significant time of physical and psychological development. We need to remain adaptive in changing times of rapid growth and new technologies. We're proud to offer a range of initiatives to support, educate, engage and inspire young people as they transition to adulthood.

Mission and philosophy

CYCOS focuses on the personal and social development of young people by: 

• providing a range of social, recreational, and vocational opportunities
• delivering school-based programs that improve well-being, health knowledge, and inclusion
• creating a non-threatening environment that encourages a sense of responsibility and respect
• involving young people in identifying needs and planning activities and programs
• offering information about support services and referrals when required
