Pets and animals

Rangers are available during office hours, Monday to Saturday and on call after hours for emergency. After hours service is available for emergency situations involving stock on public roads or where a dog attack has occurred. 

If you find a sick, injured or orphaned native animal in the Cessnock area, please call Hunter Wildlife Rescue on their 24 hour hotline 0418 628 483 or visit their website.

Keeping animals

Lost and found animals

Find out if your lost pet has been handed in to us or what to do if you find a lost pet.

Barking dogs

Find out what do to if you've been involved in or have witnessed a dog attack.

Off leash areas

Take your furry friend for a run or a walk in one of our off leash areas.

Straying livestock

Know what to do when you come across straying stock including who to contact. Owners can also find out their responsibilities.
