Mayoral Scholarship Program

Council's Mayoral Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Cessnock City Mayor. It is designed to assist local residents in achieving their higher education goals and to support industry sectors that offer gainful employment in the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA).

The program has been running since 2002 and has thus far awarded 223 scholarships to the value of $558,000.

2022 Mayoral Scholarship Program Sponsorship

Council is currently seeking sponsorship from local businesses and organisations for the 2022 Mayoral Scholarship Program.

Sponsors contribute $2,500 per scholarship, with each amount being awarded to a successful candidate to help offset costs such as course fees, textbooks, laptops and more.

Partnering with Council as a Mayoral Scholarship Program sponsor comes with a range of benefits, including recognition in promotional materials, a profile on the Advance Greater Cessnock website, inclusion in the event recognising successful recipients and much more.
