Mayoral Scholarship Program

Council's Mayoral Scholarship Program is an initiative of the Cessnock City Mayor. It is designed to assist local residents in achieving their higher education goals and to support industry sectors that offer gainful employment in the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA).

The program has been running since 2002 and has thus far awarded 223 scholarships to the value of $558,000.


Apply for a 2022 Mayoral Scholarship

If you reside in the Cessnock LGA and are currently undertaking study at university or TAFE, you may be eligible for a scholarship of $2,500 to assist you.

Recipients are selected on the basis of academic merit, community involvement and achievement, and their Mayoral Scholarship Program application.

Applications for the 2022 Mayoral Scholarship Program will open on Wednesday 2 March 2022 and close Monday 4 April 2022. Read the Terms and Conditions and make an application via the links below:

2022 Mayoral Scholarship Program Sponsorship
