Weekly works update

To keep the community informed about roads maintenance and repairs in the Cessnock Local Government Area, Council will be providing you with regular updates on where council crews are working and what they are working on.
 

In the coming week, Council teams and contractors will be working on the following roads (pending weather).
Information for week ending25 January 2025.

Construction Works

  • Sawyers Gully Road, Sawyers Gully – Drainage works
  • Deakin Street, Kurri Kurri – Kerb preparations and subsoil drainage
  • Congewai Road, Congewai – Culvert replacement

Maintenance Works (South Area)

  • Paynes Crossing Road – Water tabling
  • Sandy Creek Road – Water tabling shoulders and slashing
  • Paxton/Millfield/Wollombi – Pothole patching
  • Oakey Creek Road, Marrowbone Road, Ingles Lane, O’Connors Road – Tree removal by contractors

Maintenance Works (North Area)

  • Old Maitland Road, Tuckers Lane, Mount View Road – Unsealed road grading
  • Bellbird/Greta – Shoulder maintenance
  • Cessnock/Greta – Pothole patching
  • Kurri Kurri/Heddon Greta – Wearing surface maintenance

Maintenance Works (Other, State & Regional Roads)

  • Congewai Road, Congewai – Sign installation
  • Wine Country Drive, Broke Road – Tree removal by contractors
  • Cessnock Road (Chinamans Hollow) – Tree removal by contractors
  • Government Road, Weston, Gingers Lane – Tree removal by contractors
