Building certifiers

Cessnock City Council’s team of accredited certifiers provide building approval and certification services for all types of buildings within the local government area.

Where development consent for building work is required, a building approval in the form of a construction certificate or complying development certificate is required before building work commences.

Council's CCC building certifiers can look after this process by:

  • issuing a Construction Certificate
  • issuing a Complying Development Certificate
  • providing Principal Certifier inspection services
  • issuing an Occupation Certificate

Supporting documentation is required when lodging your Construction Certificate or Complying Development application. View the CC and CDC Submission Matrix to make sure you have everything you need. You can also read the FAQs on Council's dedicated Building Certifiers website.

As part of the development application process, you may also need to seek additional information or consent from external authorities:

Appoint Council as your Principal Certifier, book a building inspection, obtain a quote for your next project and read FAQs on the CCC Building Certifiers website.

Please be advised that building inspections must be booked prior to 3pm the day before the inspection.
