Hunter Valley Wine Country has boomed over the past 15 years with the establishment of many large vineyards, restaurants and tourist accommodation facilities.
The demand for improved wayfinding and tourist facilities has been identified by community, Council and business owners. The former existing tourist information maps and directional signage, comprising of timber posts, painted maps and timber route finger boards, were over 20 years old.
Council received funding from the NSW Government for new signage and improved the standard of wayfinding signage across the LGA.

The new car park and bypass lane on Wilderness Road (near the corner of Wine Country Drive) are complete. The information bay is now complete and the facility is open to the public.
The upgrades to the carpark on Cessnock Road and the information bay in Jeffries Park are now complete and the facilities are open to the public.
The park entry road and car parking area south of DeBeyers Road has been upgraded. The information bay is now complete and the facility is open to the public.
Please note: There are now timed parking restrictions (refer to signage at each site) at the above carparks. Security cameras have been installed at Pokolbin Park on McDonalds Road, Pokolbin for the safety of all park users.
