Our Bushland Festival 2023

Welcome to Our Bushland Festival, the most anticipated event of the year! We are thrilled to announce that the festival is making a grand return, promising to be bigger and better than ever before. Join us for a delightful celebration of our local fauna and flora in the beautiful Cessnock region.

Event Highlights:

• Engaging bushwalks and a captivating night-time spotlighting tour guided by knowledgeable local ecologists.
• Vibrant market and food stalls offering a wide array of delicious treats and unique products.
• Exciting mini workshops where you can learn fascinating insights about the environment and conservation efforts.
• Free live music performances throughout the day, featuring talented artists like Melody Pool, The Lairs, 24 Strings, and Fish Fry.

Our Bushland Festival is an event for all ages. From young children to grandparents, there's something for everyone to enjoy. Bring your loved ones and experience a day filled with fun activities, exploration, and entertainment. The main day of the festival will be Sunday 10 September from 9.30am, following a morning bushwalk on Friday 8 September and an evening 'Spotlight Adventure' on Saturday 9 September.

We encourage the entire community to join us in celebrating the beauty of Our Bushland. This festival is made possible thanks to the generous support of the NSW Department of Planning and Environment, Cessnock City Council, Hunter Local Land Services (via the National Landcare Program), and Land Eco Consulting. We are proud to collaborate with esteemed organisations such as: BirdLife Australia, Aussie Ark, Hunter Bird Observers Club, Mindaribba Local Aboriginal Land Council, and the National Parks & Wildlife Service.

On Saturday 9 September, don't miss the extraordinary Evening Spotlight Adventure. Join local experts on a guided tour as they unveil the captivating world of nocturnal birds, insects, bats, frogs, and mammals in their natural environment. This exclusive opportunity allows you to witness the wonders of the night like never before.

We are delighted to welcome back Aussie Ark, who will be bringing a captivating collection of native animals for you to interact with. Be sure to meet the adorable Tasmanian Devil joeys and other fascinating creatures that Aussie Ark has in store for you.
