Cultural facilities

Our three cultural facilities - Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre, Wollombi Cultural Centre and Richmond Main Heritage Site - are open to the public and offer diverse activities and services to our community.

These facilities have access measures that aim to reduce barriers and increase participation for people with disability. Discover the the provisions in place at our cultural facilities on the Cultural Facilities and Access page. 

COVID Safe measures are in place at all facilities to comply with the NSW Public Health Order. All visitors are required to QR check-in upon arrival, wear a mask, social distance, use the hand sanitiser available and comply with any additional requirements displayed on site.


Marthaville Arts and Cultural Centre

Open from 10am Fridays and Saturdays (other days by appointment only)

An extensive range of local creations are on display and for sale at the Centre. Marthaville is also available for hire and is the ideal space to host community activities, exhibitions, celebrations and meetings. 

Main Program Room

Marthaville’s Main Program Room can be used as a function space, large meeting room or for activities and training. The room accommodates up to 40 people, is air conditioned and has good access to the kitchen and gardens.

Studio Room

The Studio room, located at the rear of the cottage, can be used as a small studio, meeting room or consultation space and can accommodate up to 8 people. The space is air conditioned and has access to a kitchenette and bathroom.

The grounds

The grounds at Marthaville are also available to hire for events, weddings, markets and community celebrations. The grounds can accommodate up to 300 people and have a gazebo and outdoor amenities block.

Wollombi Cultural Centre

Open on weekends from 10am to 4pm

Wollombi Cultural Centre supports all kinds of artistic and cultural expression within the Wollombi Valley Communities and is available for hire for exhibitions or any other cultural or arts related functions.

Richmond Main Heritage Site

Following a safety review of the Richmond Main Heritage site, it is currently closed until further notice.

The site formerly known as the Richmond Main Colliery is now home to the Richmond Main Museum and presents outdoor mining artefacts, former colliery buildings, restored locomotives and heritage railway.

The Richmond Main Colliery is a state heritage item recognised for being one of the best equipped and productive collieries for its time. The colliery commenced operations in 1912 and closed 1967 with the Power House later closing in 1976 and Council taking ownership the same year.
