Youth Services
Youth Services support young people across the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA) through a wide range of community and school-based programs that promote wellbeing, education, recreation, and social connection. These inclusive initiatives are designed through collaboration and consultation with young people, the community, government, and non-government organisations to create meaningful opportunities for young people to engage, thrive, and actively participate in community life. All our programs are designed with and for young people transitioning to high school through to early adulthood and focus on empowering young people in all areas of life.
Our programs are:
FREE: There is no cost associated with activities or programs. We are funded and operated by Cessnock City Council.
SAFE: Programs are supervised by professional youth workers. To maintain a safe environment for the young people participating, we encourage non-violent behaviour, no bullying and inclusive practices that support all young people attending.
INCLUSIVE: We welcome all young people. Cessnock Youth Centre is a safe and accessible place for all young people living, working or studying in the region.
FUN: In consultation with young people we plan and deliver initiatives that are fun, engaging and youth led.
