Meet the Author: Maureen Hamilton

Published on 16 February 2024

Cessnock City Council invites the community to attend a captivating evening with local author Maureen Hamilton, as she shares her unforgettable journey along the Camino.

Maureen will share her incredible tale at Cessnock City Library on Thursday 7 March, 6pm-7pm, where her love for the Camino began at a young age when her aunt gave her a scallop shell.

For some people, the Camino slowly grows on them until they can’t resist the urge to embark on the pilgrimage. This is exactly what happened to Maureen.

In 2017 she walked the Camino Frances and documented her journey by writing a diary entry every night that was later turned into her book, Day…by day…by day: Maureen’s Camino.

Library Coordinator Rose-marie Walters said Maureen’s journey through the Camino will inspire and resonate with everyone in the room.

"Join us for an unforgettable night of storytelling where Maureen’s remarkable tale will take you on an emotional rollercoaster from laughter to tears.

Make sure you secure your spot to join us for an inspiring evening that promises to leave a lasting impression," said Ms Walters.

Don’t miss out on the chance to meet the incredible Maureen Hamilton and hear her inspiring story.

Bookings for this event are essential and can be made from the adults’ section of the ‘What’s On’ page on the Library website or by calling Cessnock Library on 4993 4399.
