Each year communities and organisations across the Cessnock LGA host activities to celebrate and share Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture during NAIDOC Week.
NAIDOC Week celebrations will be held from 5 – 12 July 2026.
The theme for 2026, '50 Years of Deadly', marks a milestone. It’s a tribute to the people who built this movement. The Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.
Everyone is welcome to participate, and it is a fantastic opportunity to support, learn about and get involved with our local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities.
To find out what activities are happening across our region please see our brochure linked at the top of the page.
