Household Chemical CleanOut

Council's next Household Chemical CleanOut will be held on Sunday 2 April 2023 from 9am to 3:30pm at Cessnock Council Depot, 2082 Old Maitland Road, Cessnock.

This is a FREE service for the safe disposal of a range of household chemicals that could cause harm to human health and the environment if they are not disposed of correctly.

You can take household quantities (20L or 20kg of a single item) of the following household chemicals and items:

• Solvents and household cleaners
• Floor care products
• Ammonia-based cleaners
• Pesticides and herbicides
• Poisons
• Pool chemicals
• Hobby chemicals
• Motor fuels
• Fluorescent globes and tubes
• Acids and alkalis
• Smoke detectors
• Paint and paint-related products (up to 100L in 20L containers)
• Gas bottles
• Fire extinguishers
• Car and household batteries
• Motor oils and cooking oils
