Seminar: Supporting children through change and uncertainty
Seminar: Supporting children through change and uncertainty
Supporting children through change and uncertainty
Take part in this free online seminar for parents, carers and professionals facilitated by the The MacKillop Institute and supported by Cessnock City Council.
The last couple of years has brought many changes and losses for children, young people, and families all around Australia. There are so many questions about the impacts of the pandemic, natural disasters, bereavement, family separation and relocation, and how we can best support the young people in our lives.
The
Seasons for Growth
suite of programs equips partents, carers, schools and professionals to support children and young people in sharing their experiences of change and loss in safe and creative ways. This free seminar will help you understand and attend to the feelings of your young person and learn skills to help them adapt and recover.
You will learn:
How to raise issues and talk about what is happening
What kind of reactions you can expect from your young person
How you can best support your young person
The range of impacts the pandemic is having on young people
How to manage the reactions of young people
Creative ways of providing support to your young person
