Cessnock City Council will celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by hosting a tree planting event at Bridges Hill Park to honour the Monarch’s 70 years on the throne.
Residents are invited to come along to this fun and friendly event which will involve tree planting on Saturday 13 August 2022, from 9am. The official ceremony begins at 10am and with a free morning tea and sausage sizzle at 10.30am.
Council has over 200 native trees and shrubs to be planted on the Victoria side of Bridges Hill Park, and the best part is the holes will be pre-dug and ready for planting.
Anyone attending is encouraged to wear clothes that are comfortable for gardening and to bring a hat and water bottle.
This project received funding from the Australian Government’s Planting Trees for the Queens Jubilee Program.
