Easter Compost Giveaway

Our popular compost giveaway is happening again on Thursday 8 April from 10am at Cessnock Sportsground (Baddeley Park), just in time for Easter!

Council will be giving away 198 bags of premium compost made from the material collected in your garden organics bin. It's free of weed seeds and ideal for rejuvenating soils in all types of gardens.

Important information:

• This will be a drive through event - please remain in your vehicle
• Have your drivers licence with proof of current residency ready to show staff who will load the bags into your vehicle for you 
• Each household can get 2 x 25L bags
• You may collect for multiple households in one car with identification for each address 
• No bags will be available prior to the published start time and the event will finish when all the bags are gone 
• Dates are subject to change due to weather conditions - check Council's Facebook page on the day or call Solo Resource Recovery on 1800 870 250 if you're unsure if the event is still proceeding due to weather
• The ‘Garden Organics’ promotional bags of compost are not available for purchase
