We are a small community scattered over a large bushland area, surrounded by National Parks. We have a strong focus on environmental issues, with projects for both flora and fauna. We have also participated in the annual clean-up day since the mid-1990s.
With many Aboriginal cultural sites, as well as the Great North Road, running through our community, history is another key focus of attention. We were involved in establishing the Convict Trail Project and are active participants in this organisation. Murrays Run was settled in the early 1800s and also fits into this historic context.
We have a very close relationship with the Bucketty Bush Fire Brigade and together we have been organising the annual Christmas Carols in Bucketty for over 20 years.
