In response to the NSW Health stay at home order, Council services, facilities and events have been impacted. Important changes to the status of Council services will take place from Monday 18 October 2021.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the greater Newcastle and Hunter Valley areas, NSW Health has issued a stay at home order. Following the NSW Government's Roadmap to Reopening announcement, there will be further changes from Monday 18 October.
Cessnock City Council received a grant under the Australian Government Black Spot Program to improve road safety on Oakey Creek Road, Pokolbin.
Council will be undertaking some site investigations along Oakey Creek Road in the coming months for the proposed improvements along a 4.1 kilometre section of Oakey Creek Road between Marrowbone Road in the west and Ingles Lane in the east.

In accordance with the grant funding, the timeframe for the works, weather permitting and subject to site conditions is completion by 30 June 2022.
A detour will be advised closer to construction.
