Council received funding under Round 7 of the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program for the upgrade of Camp Road, Greta.
This project forms part of Council's Operational Plan. You can find it within the Operational Plan with the Project ID RRL 2021 008.
Scope of work
The construction works will include:
- shoulder widening
- road pavement rehabilitation
- sealing and line-marking
- NBN relocation completed
- Power augmentation including replacement of two poles:
- Site 1 pole - 450m south of Mansfield St/Camp Rd street sign
- Site 2 pole - Opposite properties 271 and 273 Camp Road

Stage 2B - Roadworks, have commenced earlier than expected, with tabled drain and batters being cut in with rehabilitation of road edge pavement. Additional road works and pavement strengthening will continue over the coming weeks.
Works are expected to be completed by end of February 2023, pending weather.
Traffic control will remain as is for the remainder of roadworks.
The works are located South from Property 363 Camp road and extend about 80m south of Property 273 Camp Road. The total length of works is about 1km.

Relocation of telecommunication cable and power pole augmentation are now complete.
Stage 2B - Roadworks, is planned for the beginning of February 2023 and will take approximately five weeks to complete, pending weather.
During the course of the works, unavoidable traffic disruptions will occur. Traffic control measures will be in place to minimise disruption and specific arrangements will be made for affected residents to access their properties. The Contractor will endeavour to keep residents informed of the timing and duration of the disruptions as work progresses.
The works are located at the former migrant camp entry and run north for approximately 410 metres.
