Background

Transport for NSW has engaged Cessnock City Council to commence upgrade works on a 2 kilometre section of John Renshaw Drive from Lings Road, Buttai to the Hunter Expressway. The works are part of the NSW Government's $12.4 million project to improve safety along the 10 kilometre stretch of road between the M1 Pacific Motorway and the Hunter Expressway.  

Scope of Works

Works included: 

  • Widening and resurfacing sections of the road 
  • Widening and repairing drainage infrastructure
  • Installing a wide painted centre line
  • Installing audio-tactile line marking along the edge lines
