Gingers Lane and Hart Road Roundabout

Current status

All stages of the Gingers Lane upgrade and Hart Road roundabout construction are now complete. 

Stage Four of the Gingers Lane project saw the road rebuilt from Stringybark Place to the new Hart Road roundabout at the intersection of Gingers Lane with Government Road, Sawyers Gully Road and Hart Road. 

Whilst Gingers Lane was complete in January it could not be opened until the Hart Road Roundabout was complete. The Hart Road roundabout project has now been completed.

The construction of a safer roundabout at the intersection of Gingers Lane, Sawyers Gully Road, Hart Road and Government Road is now complete. The works include construction of the new roundabout and tie-ins at each of the intersecting roads.

The Hart Road Roundabout Project was funded by funded by Transport for NSW.

Gingers Lane Upgrade

Project type: Road upgrade 
Project schedule: Stage 4 - Oct 2020 to Jan 2021 

Gingers Lane has been identified as a major transport route. Upgrade works have now been completed, improving the safety of all road users and allowing the road to be reclassified as a regional road with Transport for NSW.

The upgrade took place in four stages and included pavement improvement, road widening, kerb and gutter installation, drainage upgrades, road safety barriers, turnings lanes and service relocations. 

The Gingers Lane project was jointly funded by the NSW Government’s Restart NSW Fixing Country Roads program and Cessnock City Council.
