We celebrate our ageing population and the valuable contribution seniors make to our community. 


Cessnock City Seniors Festival 

The 2024 Cessnock City Seniors Festival is running from 11 March to 24 March 2024. 

With dozens of free events, the festival is a chance to get to know what clubs and activities are on offer in the Cessnock Local Government Area all year round. It's about making connections, not just during the festival but also following the festivities.

Seniors Reference Group

The Seniors Reference Group (SRG) guides Council in the planning and delivery of the Cessnock City Seniors Festival each year. To be involved with the SRG, please contact our Customer Relations team on 4993 4100


Wollombi Connect bus service

Wollombi Connect is a new transport access service for residents of the local Wollombi region which operates every second Thursday of the month.

Anyone can use the service to the Cessnock CBD and if you're older and need assistance, Northern Coalfields Community Care Association (NCCCA) can help. 

The bus departs:

  • Laguna Community Hall at 9:30am (via Wollombi Tennis Club at 9:45am)
  • North Ave Cessnock (near Westpac) at 1:30pm (via Wollombi Tennis Club at 2:15pm)

Bookings are essential and fares are only $7.50 one way, or $15.00 return. Contact NCCCA on 0499 359 659, or email getconnected@nccca.com.au to register for the service. Your support and patronage will help this service continue beyond the year long trial.
