As COVID-19 cases continue to rise significantly throughout NSW, including the Hunter region, Cessnock City Council is encouraging residents to stay safe and do their business with Council remotely, where possible.

With the increase in case numbers, rules and restrictions which apply in NSW continue to change as we navigate this new Omicron outbreak. Cessnock City Council continues to operate in accordance with NSW Health guidelines.

In order to reduce risk and keep our community safe, residents can connect with Council remotely in a number of ways, including visiting Council’s website. Here, residents can live chat with Council’s Customer Service team, report an issue, make payments, order a new bin, track a DA, and more.

Community members can also email council@cessnock.nsw.gov.au or call Council’s Customer Service team on 4993 4100. Residents can also take advantage of the call back service, where they can avoid waiting on hold, without losing their place in the queue.

Mandatory QR code requirements are in place for Hunter Valley Visitor Information Centre, the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre, Cessnock City Libraries, and Cessnock and Branxton Pools. In all other Council facilities, QR code check-ins will be encouraged but are not currently mandatory.

Council would also like to remind residents that masks are mandatory in all indoor locations (excluding private residences).

As a community, we need to work together to keep everyone safe. Please make sure that if you have any cold/flu symptoms get tested immediately, and as always, remember to practice social distancing and regular hand sanitisation.
