Council is pleased to announce it will reopen its Customer Service Centre on Vincent Street, Cessnock to fully vaccinated residents from 9am on Monday 18 October.

While the Customer Service Centre will reopen, there will be strict guidelines in place to adhere with the Public Health Order, including only opening to fully vaccinated people. Customers will also be required to wear a mask, check in via the QR code out the front and adhere to the one person per 4sqm rule.

Once reopened, the Customer Service Centre will operate from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Duty planner, building surveyor and environmental health officer services will still be available via phone on 4993 4100.

If you’re not fully vaccinated, there are still a number of ways to connect with Council’s customer service team, including:

Due to the high volume of calls, Council has also implemented a call back service so customers can opt to receive a call back, rather than losing their place in the queue.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said it will be fantastic to welcome back customers and deliver face-to-face customer service again.

“Council’s customer service team are committed to delivering a positive customer experience and have been doing a great job despite the challenges posed by COVID-19.”

“It will be wonderful to be able to deliver face-to-face services to our community again and I ask that residents are kind and respectful to all frontline staff working across the LGA,” added Cr Pynsent

Cessnock City Library will also reopen on Monday 18 October.

Under the NSW Government Roadmap to Reopening, the 1 December 2021 will likely see all Council facilities and services return to normal.
