Cessnock City Council’s Economic Development team is proud to present a local business networking event which will take place from 12 to 2.30pm on Friday 10 June at the Grand Mercure Hunter Valley Gardens, Pokolbin.

This event will have a focus on employment and will feature keynote speaker Carolyn Miller, who is a creative thought leader and digital strategy expert. Carolyn is the founder of The Honeycomb Effect communications consultancy, and has over 20 years’ experience in marketing.

Carolyn will present practical tips for businesses to foster their audience, employees and customers through digital marketing and engagement. From their own direct communications, to online advertising, and social media, there will be plenty of ideas to get local businesses started, or to amplify their existing activity.

Guests will also hear an employment update from Karla Notman, the Employment Facilitator for the Hunter Region, watch employment industry videos, and hear about Council’s latest initiatives to get trained candidates in available roles and a pilot job shuttle program.

Cessnock City Council Mayor Jay Suvaal said this event is a great opportunity for local businesses to network and hear from a highly experienced marketing professional.

“I am a big believer in supporting local businesses and helping them thrive, and events like this can really make a difference,” Cr Suvaal said.

“I strongly encourage local businesses to come along to this event, meet like-minded business owners, and learn practical tips on how to boost their business.”

Tickets are just $10, which includes a delicious three course lunch, and can be booked by visiting the Events section of Council's website.

This is the latest in a series of businesses networking events made possible with joint NSW and Commonwealth Government funding under the Bushfire Community Recovery and Resilience Fund (BCRRF).
