Spring Awakening 2020 cancelled

Spring Awakening 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID-19 and the current NSW Government restrictions regulating gatherings.

The much anticipated event that involves a lantern parade and a festive gathering at TAFE Park, Cessnock cannot proceed in accordance with Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement) Order (No 4) 2020.

Council’s General Manager, Lotta Jackson said it’s disappointing it cannot go ahead for everyone.

“This event has attracted up to 2000 participants in previous years. I’m sure many in the community will share in our disappointment but understand at this time we cannot proceed with the festivities.”
