Cessnock City Council is asking residents to place their bins out the night before collection with collections set to start earlier in some areas.

This comes as Council introduces measures to protect staff during this time and to ensure minimal disruption to this essential service.

Council’s Waste Manager, Michael Alexander thanked residents for their cooperation.

“We’re taking steps to ensure our staff are able to continue to deliver this service to the community while also adhering to social distancing. The start times of staff have been staggered in order to allow for minimal contact between our team members. This means in some areas collection will start slightly earlier.”
