Cessnock City Library has great news for avid readers across the Cessnock Local Government Area as they introduce their ‘Call and Collect’ service.

The ‘Call and Collect’ service is available at both Cessnock and Kurri Kurri Libraries and involves three simple steps:

  1. Call Cessnock Library on (02) 4993 4399 or Kurri Kurri Library on (02) 4937 1638 and the friendly staff will help you select the items you need.
  2. Library staff will clean, prepare and bundle your loan.
  3. Organise a time to collect from Cessnock or Kurri Kurri Library – BYO bag.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said this is yet another wonderful initiative by our local libraries.

“People are spending so much more time at home at the moment, which is a great opportunity to read more books and our libraries are making it easy for people to do so.”

It is important to collect your items at the agreed time to ensure everyone's safety. Please try not make a special trip to the library to collect your items, but rather incorporate your collection with planned trips for groceries or other essential outings.

Once you have finished with your items, return them through the chute at the library. Items will then be cleaned and quarantined for 5 days before being returned to the collection.

Cessnock City Library now has automatic renewals too, so your items will be automatically renewed if you can't return your items within the normal borrowing period, so there’s no need to stress.
