Free Family Fun Days return!

Cessnock City Council is pleased to announce the Sunday Family Fun Days will go ahead at the Cessnock, Branxton pools and the Kurri Kurri Aquatic and Fitness Centre.
Starting from Sunday 20 December, 2020 residents will gain FREE entry. The Fun Days are on Sunday’s over the Christmas school holiday period and run until Sunday 21 February 2021.
Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said despite some challenges posed by COVID-19 Council will be able to put on these free days at the pool with a little bit of help from the community.
“It’s great we are able to offer the Family Fun Days and allow community members a great day out, cooling down at our fantastic local facilities. We are asking that all residents cooperate with the various procedures in place to ensure the safety of everyone.”
The Family Fun Days at Cessnock and Branxton pools will be divided into two sessions, morning and afternoon:
- Session 1 10am – 12.45pm
- Session 2 1.15pm – 4pm
Residents wanting to secure a spot can make a booking. To book by call Cessnock or Branxton pools between Wednesday and Friday 9am to 5pm in the week leading up to the Family Fun Day of your choice.

Bookings will be taken for up to 50% capacity of Cessnock and Branxton pool. This will allow for some walk-ins on the day. Customers must turn up within 30 minutes of their session start time or risk losing their booking.
Once at the pool residents must check–in using the 1Breadcrumb app to ensure compliance with the Public Health Order. Council staff will be there to greet patrons and ensure they are checked-in before entering the facility.
Those planning to attend Kurri Kurri Aquatic and Fitness Centre don’t have to book ahead, with only one session running between 10am to 4pm. Patrons will be required to check-in on arrival.
