Council is encouraging not-for-profit community groups and organisations operating in the Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA) to utilise the online promotional resource, MyCity.

Part of the Cessnock City Council website, MyCity allows community groups to make a free directory listing that details the full scope of their services and allows them to promote their activities via an events calendar.

The MyCity Community Directory allows community members to search the extensive database via keyword, suburb or category to find local groups and services of interest to them. Via the MyCity Events Calendar people can find out what’s happening in the local area and connect.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is encouraging local groups who have not yet registered to jump on board.

“The MyCity platform was launched last year and has become an awesome resource for community groups and community members alike”, he said.

“Jump on, add your group or organisation and start listing your COVID Safe events straightaway,” added Mayor Pynsent.

Registering is a short, simple process, and groups who register will receive annual reminders to ensure their directory listing stays up-to-date.

Visit MyCity to register your organisation, the MyCity Community Directory to find registered groups and services, and MyCity Events Calendar to find out about community events taking place in the Cessnock LGA.
