Gingers Lane has been identified as a major transport route and is being upgraded to allow for classification as a regional road with Transport NSW.

Gingers Lane will be upgraded in four stages, including activities such as pavement improvement, road widening, kerb and gutter installation, drainage upgrades, road safety barriers, turnings lanes and service relocations.

The fourth stage, from Stringybark Place to the roundabout at the intersection of Gingers Lane with Government Road, Sawyers Gully Road and Hart Road, will occur concurrently with the upgrade of the roundabout.

These upgrades are about improving the safety of all road users. During construction the safety of road users and workers is a priority requiring some unavoidable road closures.

Current status

Stages One, Two and Three are now complete.

Stage Three saw the road rebuilt from Woodlands Drive to Stringybark Place.

Stage Four works are underway between Stringybark Place and the roundabout.

A road closure is currently in place on Gingers Lane for Stage Four works between Stringybark Place and the roundabout. Detours are in place via Frame Drive and Sawyers Gully Road as the staged construction progresses.

Temporary roads bypassing the roundabout for the upgrade works are complete, with traffic now diverted onto the bypass roads. See image of bypass below:
