The objective of the Planning Proposal is to facilitate the permissibility of residential flat buildings within the integrated tourist development known as “The Vintage”.
The outcome of the Planning Proposal will be the inclusion of an Additional Permitted Use to Schedule 1 of the Cessnock Local Environmental Plan 2011 applicable only to certain properties within "The Vintage" development.
On 18 September 2020 the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment issued a Gateway determination enabling Council to place the Planning Proposal, 18/2019/2/1 – Additional Permitted Use to facilitate residential flat buildings on exhibition for a period of 14 days. This is consistent with Council’s resolution to proceed with this Planning Proposal at its Ordinary Meeting held 15 July 2020.
