Planning Proposal, 18/2017/6/1 – 71 Branxton Street, Greta

The objective of the planning proposal is to amend the Cessnock Local Environmental Plan 2011 to:

  • rezone land at 71 Branxton Street from RU2 Rural Landscape to R2 Low Density Residential (in part)
  • reduce the minimum lot size from 40Ha to 450m2 (in part)
  • identify the site as an urban release area

On 28 August 2020 the Department of Planning, Industry and Environment issued a Gateway determination enabling Council to place the planning proposal, 18/2017/6/1 – 71 Branxton Street, Greta on exhibition for a period of 14 days.  This is consistent with Council’s resolution to proceed with this proposal at its Ordinary Meeting held 6 June 2018.
