Housing Strategy

The draft Cessnock Housing Strategy considers the unique housing needs and aspirations of our community now and into the future. It explores expected population growth, the changing characteristics of our community and also our housing preferences.

The strategy makes a series of recommendations help support the delivery of appropriate, affordable and diverse housing across Cessnock.

Council releases submissions when a request is made in accordance with Privacy Laws and the relevant provisions under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009. The Housing Strategy helps to achieve the following objectives and strategic direction of Cessnock 2027 Community Strategic Plan:

  • We have adequate industrial and employment lands and thriving commercial precincts.

Objective 3.1: Protecting & enhancing the natural environment & the rural character of the area

Strategic direction:

  • Our area’s rural character and heritage is protected.
  • Our environmental amenity is protected and enhanced.
