Deputy Mayor, Councillor Darrin Gray has lived in Cessnock Local Government Area (LGA) for 53 years. He was born in Kurri Kurri and now lives there with his wife where they have raised three boys together.
Proud of his historic family links to the establishment of the South Maitland Coalfield, Darrin is committed to the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the local government area, for our future generations.
A Boilermaker by trade, he brings experience in small business, tourism, mining, project management and social welfare. Darrin has been committed to working with our most vulnerable community members for over 35 years, including youth, homelessness, child protection and the unemployed in various roles.
Currently the Operations Manager of a Non-Government Organisation delivering work skills and social outcomes across the Cessnock LGA and Hunter Region.
