Hello I’am Alison Davey, Mayor of the City of Cessnock.
I have lived and worked in Cessnock for nearly five decades and have served on Cessnock Council for more than 25 years. During this time I have seen Cessnock evolve from a series of coal-mining villages into an exciting city at the centre of Hunter Valley Wine Country.
You may be familiar with the Hunter’s renowned Wine Country and the legendary hospitality of our vineyards and resorts. The Hunter Valley is the most visited wine destination in Australia and offers outstanding opportunities to investors and individuals. Cessnock’s thriving winemaking and tourism industries are only part of a diverse economy that includes manufacturing, retail and service sectors.
I have been privileged to work closely with other business and community leaders over the years to progress the city. There is a wonderful spirit of cooperation and a strong sense of community in Cessnock that I have not experienced elsewhere.
As Mayor, I am committed to fostering an even more open and consultative council that will further facilitate the sustainable development of our City.
