Local Sportsgrounds

Local sportsgrounds are usually a minimum of two hectares in size, cater for up to 5,000 people, are generally no more than a 10 minute walk or five minute cycle ride for most users, contain two full sized sporting fields with a cricket wicket in between, four floodlight poles, automatic irrigation, an amenities building, ideally linked to local cycleways/pathways and have a sealed car park.

District Sportsgrounds

District sportsgrounds are typically a minimum five hectares in size, generally cater for a population of between 5,000 and 15,000 people, contain an amenities building, a spectator area, four full sized sporting fields with a cricket wicket in the centre of each one, six floodlight poles, automatic irrigation on each field, ideally linked to a major transport route cycleway/pathway and have a sealed car park larger than a local sportsground.

Regional Sportsgrounds

Regional sportsgrounds are generally a minimum 10 hectares in size, cater for a population of 15,000 people and over, have an amenities building, tiered seating/raised spectator areas, four full sized sporting fields with a cricket wicket in the centre of each one, six floodlight poles, minimum of six floodlit consolidated multipurpose all weather courts, minimum of two floodlit synthetic tennis courts that are fully fenced, ideally linked to major transport route cycleway/pathway and contain a sealed car park with the capacity for over 100 vehicles.
