Council's Roads & Drainage Works Program includes a number of programs that identifies works to be carried out each financial year. These programs are Roads Works Program and Roads Maintenance Program. These programs include a number of projects involving the construction or reconstruction of major road and drainage assets rather than routine maintenance activities.
Council’s Infrastructure Works section review these programs on a monthly basis and programs may be adjusted to take into account available resources, site and weather constraints and other circumstances which may affect implementation of the various planned projects.
Council’s Road Maintenance section undertakes roads maintenance works throughout the Cessnock Local Government Area. The road areas are divided into three sections which are Urban Road Areas, Rural Road Areas and Main Road Areas. Works for Urban Roads, Rural Roads, State Roads, Main Roads and Regional Roads are programmed from area inspections by Council Officers and Customer Requests that have been lodged with Council.
