Heart Foundation Walking is a free walking program which aims to increase participation in regular physical activity. Walking groups are led by volunteer leaders offering a local, enjoyable, social and supportive physical activity option for people who wish to walk in their local area or with colleagues either before work or at lunchtime.
The Heart Foundation recommends that adults do at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity, such as brisk walking, on most or all days of the week.
Regular walking can reduce the risk of developing heart disease and stroke, help you to feel more energetic, reduce stress, improve posture and mood, maintain bone density and improve joint mobility and stability. People of all ages can improve their health and well-being by becoming active.
