Council Meetings are held on the first and third Wednesday of each month and are generally open to the public. The meetings deal with, but are not limited to, Mayoral minutes, matters referred from previous Council and Committee meetings, reports of the General Manager, adoption of minutes of Standing Committees, mediation reports, notices of motions, matters for information, general business and confidential reports. Before each Council meeting, a Business Paper is prepared detailing the items to be presented to the Council. Readers should be aware that the Recommendations and Notices of Motion set out in the Council Business Paper are simply proposals to the Council for its consideration. The Council may adopt these proposals, amend the proposals, determine a completely different course of action, or it may decline to pursue any course of action. The decision of the Council becomes a resolution of the Council and is recorded in the Council Minutes. Readers are referred to this separate document. The Council Business Paper and the Council Minutes are linked by the common Item Numbers and Titles. Business Papers are available for inspection at Council’s Libraries and Offices on the Friday afternoon before the meeting and published on Council’s website. 8 NEW RESIDENTS GUIDE Y O U R C O U N C I L Contact us 4993 4100 (Customer Service) 4993 4100 (Emergency/ after hours) 4993 2500 (FAX) firstname.lastname@example.org www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au Visit us Administration Building 62-78 Vincent Street Cessnock NSW 2325 Open 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays and Picnic Day).
