OFF LEASH DOG PARKS We understand it’s important to exercise and have fun with your furry friend, which is why we offer a number of leash free areas in our local parks for them to play. Not only do these areas allow them to burn off excess energy, but it’s also an opportunity for them to socialise with other dogs. While we are happy for your furry friends to run free in these parks, a number of conditions apply, which can be found on Council’s website. For a full list of dog-friendly parks, check out the Community Directory in the back of this guide. POOLS Make a splash in our local pools! We have three pools in our LGA located in Cessnock, Branxton and Kurri Kurri. Both Cessnock and Branxton Pools are open from October to March and Kurri Kurri is open all year round. Each of these pools offer a range of facilities and programs for our community to enjoy and are a great place for your little ones to learn to swim. To find out more, visit www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au/ community/sport/pools. PARKS We have 72 wonderful parks located throughout the Cessnock LGA for locals and visitors to enjoy and our youngest residents will be happy to know 39 of these have playgrounds. Sports lovers won’t be disappointed with 34 sports grounds across the region including ovals, indoor sports centres and aquatic facilities. Our parks and sports grounds have a variety of amenities including picnic areas, barbeques and public toilets.
