We all know that finding time in today's busy world to make payments in person is difficult sometimes and Cessnock City Council has responded to that very issue by introducing another payment option for residents.
Following a number of requests and an analysis of payment trends, Council has introduced the popular BPAY as an additional payment option. Our ratepayers can now make and schedule payments directly from their bank accounts. It is anticipated that the introduction of BPAY will complement the existing payment choices available, especially the Postbillpay options through Australia Post offices.
Council's BPAY facility has been set up to accept only payments from debit (bank) accounts, however credit card payments can still be made by phone or internet and of course at the Administration Centre.
The service can be used for payment of rates prior to the issue of the rate notices in July by using the Biller Code 918664 and your rate assessment number as the reference number.
For further information about how to use BPAY, please contact either your financial institution or Council's Customer Service Officers on 4993 4300.
