Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan 2016
Cessnock City Council, with encouragement and support from the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Advisory Committee, has developed its first ever Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan.
This one year plan was adopted by Council on the 9 December 2015.
The plan provides Council with a framework and vision for reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
It lists 13 actions and is structured around 4 themes; Relationships, Respect, Opportunities and Tracking Progress.
Reconciliation Australia has endorsed the plan and this endorsement comes with a responsibility to report annually on the achievement of actions.
A report outlining Council’s progress in implementing the plan will be made available on our website late 2016.
