The Cessnock Youth Week Organising Committee is proud to present Youth Week 2017, featuring a program bigger and better than ever.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is wowed at how many events are on offer for young people.

“A busy week of events kicks off on 31 March with Take the Stage and wraps up on 8 April with the ever popular YouthFest.”

“Take the Stage is a brilliant opportunity for young people to showcase their talents in front of family and friends at Cessnock Performing Arts Centre”.

“Performances can be anything from drama acts, circus acts, comedy acts and dance. Musical performances may include an instrumental or song performed by a solo, duet or band.”

“All the fun and excitement of Youth Week culminates at YouthFest at the end of the week.”

“This free event includes live music, a bike, skate and scooter competition, art workshop, Zoro balls and fun for the entire family,” Cr Pynsent said.

This year the Cessnock Youth Entertainment Committee was successful with an Indent grant that will fund the music component of YouthFest.

The committee is excited Brisbane band “Columbus” will be the headline act supported by a handful of awesome young bands from the Hunter Region.

Highlights of YouthFest include:

• Headline performance Columbus
• Local bands
• Bike, skate and scooter competition, open to competitors of all skill levels
