Cessnock City Council is pleased to announce novelist Toni Jordan will visit Cessnock Library for an author talk from 10am to 11am on Thursday 9 June 2016.

Toni will speak about her writing, her journey and her inspirations.

The Melbourne based author had an interesting start as a novelist, leaving a career in marketing in 2003 to study creative writing at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT).

It was by chance she read an article on RMIT’s professional writing and editing diploma that led her to become an internationally recognised author.

From this point on Toni never hesitated and said she jumps first and fixes up all her mistakes later.

She has continued to write four successful novels including the international best seller Addition (2008), Fall Girl (2010) (which was also optioned for a film) and Nine Days (2012) named in Kirkus Review’s top 10 historical novels of 2013.

Her latest novel Our Tiny Useless Hearts is a comedy about love and marriage.

It captures the emotional intelligence and wit for which Toni Jordan is famous, to produce a hilarious novel.

Our Tiny Useless Hearts will be made available by The Book Den for purchase and signing on the day.

Morning tea will also be provided at the event and bookings are essential.

Please contact Cessnock Library on 4993 4399 or email library@cessnock.nsw.gov.au to book your place.
