Spring into action and join the Garage Sale Trail
Tackle your unwanted clutter and join Australia’s
biggest day of garage sales.
Cessnock City Council General Manager, Stephen Glen said unfortunately simply too much usable material ends up going to waste each year.
“The Garage Sale Trail is a fun day that puts the spotlight on how re-using and recycling items helps the environment”.
“It is completely free to host a sale and great way for community groups, schools and charities to raise valuable funds”.
“The Garage Sale Trail team have thought of everything so with just a little planning you can turn your pre-loved items into cash,” Mr Glen said.
Here are a few creative ideas to inspire you:
- Share the fun and sell toys and games your children have outgrown
- Team up with your neighbours and categorise items for sale by yard
- Free up some wardrobe space and create an outdoor boutique
- Add a spot of colour by potting excess garden plants to sell
Register early to receive a FREE pack with posters
and flyers to spread the word about your sale.
The first 2,500 sales to register by Saturday 25 September in participating council areas will get a Promo Pack in the mail. The Garage Sale Trail will be held on Saturday 22 October 2016.
