Young people and residents using local skate facilities are being urged to provide their feedback on the draft Cessnock Skatepark Concept Design that is on public exhibition.

The draft design was produced after listening to school students, industry professionals and other interested community members at various community engagement workshops in 2017.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said it was great to get ideas from interested community members to help inform the design and now they have another chance to be involved in the project.“The ideas and discussions during the workshops held last year were brilliant, in particular from those young people who use skatepark facilities frequently.”

“It’s important Council continue to plan for the future and ensure we invest in recreational facilities that meet the needs and desires of our residents.”

The design includes a large flow style bowl, street style course, assorted seating ledges, a viewing deck and a barbeque area.Mount View Park on Mount View Road has been earmarked as a site for the proposed facility.

The design will be on exhibition from Monday 12 March until Friday 13 April. To view the design and find out more please visit www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au/community/exhibition.
