Cessnock City Council is gearing up for an exciting youth event next month that is sure to be an action packed day.

CYCOS is hosting a competition at East Cessnock Skate Park on August 20.

Some of the best local talent in the region will be carving it up from 11am with Scooter, Skateboard and BMX Categories.

The event caters for all skill levels including beginners, intermediate and advanced competitors in all three categories.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said this is another great event for young people.

“It’s fantastic to see young people enjoying the local skate parks and they’ll now have the opportunity to show off the skills they’ve learnt after spending many hours at the parks”, Cr Pynsent said.

It’s expected to be a tough competition and draw a crowd of around 350 people, plus their families. It’s not just for skaters and riders, CYCOS are encouraging everyone to join the fun.  The event will include FREE outdoor laser tag and BBQ food for sale.

Entrants will have the opportunity to win some great prizes from one of the largest prize pools CYCOS has ever seen.

Competition and event entry is FREE.  To enter download a form from http://www.cessnock.nsw.gov.au/community/events-ceremonies/skatecomp, pick up a form from CYCOS or register on the day.
