The Chief to help celebrate Local Government Week

Cessnock City Council is celebrating NSW Local Government Week 2016 by holding a School Leaders’ Breakfast with guest speaker Paul "The Chief" Harragon.
Cessnock City Council is celebrating NSW Local Government Week 2016 by holding a School Leaders’ Breakfast with guest speaker Paul "The Chief" Harragon.

Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent said having represented Australia in 17 Tests and NSW in 20 consecutive State of Origin games, Paul Harragon is sure to inspire.  

“In his 220 senior matches, Paul’s leadership, team-work and dedication were shown time and time again. Off the field he is a passionate advocate for many charities and the Hunter region”.

“Chief Harragon will share his journey, the kid from Kurri to sporting superstar, giving local students a unique understanding of the effort and perseverance needed to achieve goals".  

“The chance to hear the highs and lows that go hand-in-hand with chasing your dreams will encourage local students to aim high and to keep going even when they encounter setbacks”, Cr Pynsent said.  

The School Leaders’ Breakfast will be held on Wednesday 3 August at the Cessnock Performing Arts Centre from 9.00am.  

Schools across the region have been invited to attend the event, giving students the chance to learn from a great of the game and take away valuable life lessons.
