Author and presenter Monte Dwyer visits Kurri Kurri and Cessnock Libraries

Cessnock City Council is excited to announce author and presenter, Monte Dwyer will be in Cessnock and Kurri Kurri next month for an author talk.

Monte Dwyer was born in Newcastle and has had an extremely successful career as the weather presenter on the ABC which led to his role on the Today show from 1991 to 2002. Throughout his media career he has also been a playwright, an actor, a radio announcer, a newspaper columnist, an author, a musician and a sometime journalist.

A career highlight was back in 2007 when Charles Woolley talked Mr Dwyer into driving around the country in a campervan, sourcing and broadcasting stories for his (then) radio show, ‘Across Australia’.

His presentation is expected to focus on his travels around Australia, where he may even treat audiences to a song.

The event is on Thursday 8th September, 2pm at Kurri Kurri Library and 6pm at Cessnock Library. Books, audio books and DVDs will be available for purchase and signing.
