Cessnock City Mayor, Councillor Bob Pynsent is looking forward to seeing some of the local government areas top cricket players battle it out on the pitch.

“To be a spectator of a local match is fantastic, we have an abundance of local talent and the Cessnock District Cricket Association (CDCA) do an exceptional job at putting the teams together.”

CDCA president Robert Stapleford named the teams and said it will be tightly contested.

“These are two very good sides and hopefully it will be as good a game as last year with the game in the balance till the last ball.”

The Mayors Eleven opening pair Daniel Foster and Peter Brennan are expected to create a stir with the duo labelled the most devastating pair ever seen in Cessnock.
